Does anyone have insight on how strict Sloan is about its essay word limits? From the last admissions chat, I got the sense that being under one page in length is more important that the actual word count (Assuming good font size, line spacing, margins etc). Any thoughts?

basically I got admitted in my top choice and I wouldn't attend Sloan even if admitted. I preferred to withdraw so other people may receive interview invites.

has anyone interviewed with rita edmunds, she is my interviewer, i have my interview on 7 JAN

I have not interviewed with her, but a friend told me that she used to be the Director of Admissions at the Babson MBA program. She now is a consultant to the MIT MBA Admissions office.
Has anyone on this board interviewed with her?

Out of pure curiosity, may I ask what school you will be attending? It would be quite hard for me to turn down MIT. If you don't want to divulge that info, I completely understand and I apologize in advance for asking.

I also have my interview with her and any info about her is welcome. She has a very short profile in linkedin. I guess more about her can be seen on linkedin with a premium linkedin account.

Does 3 year requirement in mit essay means strictly 3 years from application date, or 3 yrs from Fall 2010, so most of 2007 is included?

Did anyone use ClearAdmit MIT interview guide? was it useful?

Eh, I think it really depends. Since the MIT interview is (almost strictly) behavioral, it's much more helpful to just know a good 4-5 solid examples (other than your essays) that can be applied to a variety of questions (working on a team, challenging interaction, convincing someone, etc...). I think in my MIT, of all interviews, I had to think on my feet more because the questions are also kind of geared to filling in holes of their evaluation of you (which you won't really feel until you get there and answer questions).

Anyways, know solid examples and I second what sexonthebeach said about reading the guide they send you.

What's the consensus regarding appropriate age of the stories to use in the interview? Since they are very clear about how they are only interested in recent (last 3 years) stories in the application essays, it would stand to reason that they'd prefer to hear if not make you tell recent experiences in the interview. That being said, I haven't seen any mention of this preference for the interview - and it certainly would raise the degree of difficulty. What's everyone else's take?
