I am applying to R2.

Almost done with essays and am in the middle of the Cover letter. I have 4 questions regarding the online application and my bad for not getting to the online application specifics till now. Will greatly appreciate any inputs.

#1. Employer Information: I see only two sections in the Employer Information page - Current or Previous Employer & Previous Employer. My position with my current employer has changed twice in the last 4 years. Intern -> Analyst -> Manager. Though my resume will have this info, how can I indicate this info in the Employer Information page? I don't see 'Previous title' etc. And I haven't seen any option that lets applicants to add Employers (what if one has 2+ previous employers)?

#2. Undergrad institution name/code isn't in the list. For now, I typed in the name of the institution in both the fields (Undergrad Inst Code/Name). Did anyone here have a similar issue and what is the recommended solution?

#3. I have a Masters degree too. In the 'Education' page, I don't see a special section for Masters. The second section specifically mentions 'Second undergrad' but the third section doesn't include any such info. So, I updated the third section with my Masters' info. Am I missing anything here?

#4. Employer Information: There is a question that asks the full-time post-university experience by July 2011. I worked 4 years after my undergrad (college) and 4 years after my Masters (University). Is it OK to answer that I have 4 years of post-university work experience?

Any help/suggestions will enlighten me.

Thank you.

I called the admissions office regarding #1. They said just enter what there's space for, and they will get the rest from your resume. They said not to include additional employers/positions in the optional essay.

In for round 2.

Sloan stands out among all the schools I am applying to since it has the earliest round 2 deadline and the last decision date. What's up with that?

Probably because they don't have a round 3, so the decision date for round 2 is the final one.

To those who have already interviewed with Sloan: Does the interviewer probe and ask questions during the interview, or are you expected to describe a single example for 8-10 minutes?

It is very different from person to person honestly; it is quite unpredictable. Some students I met there told me the interviewer did not ask too many questions, others said the opposite. For me, it was more probing, however, it was more of a conversation than anything else, the interviewer acted as a curious person.

Hopefully that helps.

I don't know if this is asking for a bit much, but anyone with Sloan invites willing to glance through my cover letter? I'm not feeling a 100% about it and could really do with a second opinion. Ran it by friends, but obviously helps to receive inputs from those who've gone through the process themselves. do let me know.
thanks a ton.

I'm sure that is with a font size of 12 (which is pretty standard) and I think the smallest possible margins that would be appropriate are 1", though the 1.25" default margin size would work too.

That makes for very short rec letter. For 6 questions it looks like every answer has to be about 100 words for it to fit in pages. Is that single-spacing or double?

I assume single-spaced

Looks like with single space, 12 point Times new roman font, total words in 2 pages are about 900 words. That looks much smaller rec than other schools. Is 2 page a strict requirement? Am I missing something in thinking it is a small recommendation?

Does the recommender have to upload a word document with questions/answer in the rec, or is it cut-pasting into an online system?

2-pages is small. On the wharton thread, I have seen posts mentioning 2500 word letters, where each answer to rec question is about 400 words.

Why stress about this? Most schools seem to want a 2-4 page recommendation letter. MIT is on the short side but not by much. Your recommender will either follow instructions or they won't.

Does it matter whether we enter the personal or professional email address of our recommenders? Probably a small detail, but just thought i'll ask around..

Whilst I haven't sought official guidance on this, I would assume that it's best to use professional email addresses as it demonstrates the authenticity of your recommenders, and to my mind it also adds a certain weight behind the recommendation as the recommender would be perceived to be doing it in a professional capacity.

Anyone can create a Gmail / Hotmail address, and I'd prefer to avoid the possibility for the slightest element of doubt to creep into the adcom's mind.
