Its surprising how much exchange we're having over the length of the cover letter - something that likely isn't even on the adcom's radar when they review our apps but all legit conversation none the less; I'm sure anyone applying to MIT Sloan is an overachiever and instinctually considers these things. Even looking at last year's discussion thread, the one-page VS two-page cover letter was a big issue of discussion.
I've already sounded off on why I was a fan of the two-page cover letter format but... JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT... if its easy to post the roll call to a Google Doc spreadsheet (I've seen it used on the HBS and Stanford threads) and we add a column to report the number of pages in our cover letter, I'd love to see (again just for the hell of it) if it ends up having any correlation to the adcom's admission decisions on who ends up getting admitted. I can't imagine their being any correlation but stranger things have happened!

Since we're on the topic - I fit the cover letter on one page w/ 12pt font (just barely) by eliminating spaces between pp and indenting first lines. His address in top left, mine in top right. no date line. No space btwn sincerely and my name.
of course this formatting takes the look of a more personal letter than the strict business style you see if you google "business letter format" but I got the sense from the adcom folks I spoke with that they appreciate brevity. Ultimately, I don't think this will make one iota of a difference. and, really, it shouldn't.
