I think dings only go out on d-day which is Jan 31st I think

Nope. There's a ding day in mid December.

BTW, it's too early to be thinking about dings. They've only just started releasing invites...

so would you say that for those of us who live in Boston it's getting over by the minute....

We can still hope. Last year they gave a few random invitations one day before the ding day.

I thought my MIT application was well written.... do you know when all dings will come out? Is there a specific date we should expect all dings?

Dings are usually only given on the final day - not that I have any experience with this :-D

Everyone who applies to top programs thinks the same.

Only the adcoms know the ding day. Look last year's posts. It should be roughly in 2 weeks, but things can change.

In 2008, R1 mass ding day was 15-Dec (Mon) while in 2009 it was 18-Dec (Fri)

Does anyone have a view on interview timelines across different geographies?

Seems like US first, then Europe then Asia? I read somewhere that in previous years, they only interviewed in Asia in Jan...

Any thoughts?

Wait, were the people who heard today from NYC or Boston?

Has anyone from NYC heard today?

"Sanitiation crisis"?

I went to an info session on-campus in October, they told us that applicants who are closer (or in Boston) may likely find out later, and even as late as mid-January since they can easily arrange interviews on shorter-notice vs people further west or abroad. Sorry, this doesn't really answer your question directly though

Thanks! Now time to prepare! This will be my first non-blind interview thus far, which makes me a little anxious....

710/3.5/ivy

Seriously, good luck all! This month is quite the stress-inducer....

I'm in long island, which is near NYC...you think they consider that separate, or should I start holding my head low.
