Nothing in India so far. Seems like MIT hasn't started sending invites for that region but that's just a guess somewhat based on prior year trends..

I shall be watching the game on Saturday with a WPer friend. Never watched a football game before, I'm excited! Go Army! :wave

Congrats to those with invites. I hope many more will join the ranks. And as others have pointed out, it is WAY too early to start giving up hope. It's only been two days, people!

Hey Lind,
I am frm India, spent good 20 yrs of my life in a village whr where electricity supply is akin to God's gift. But after all the backwardness I have seen in India I find it hard to believe/digest/swallow your story. Education to female gender in India is as important as to males esp for middle class & beyond....even 15 years back.
I have never heard about any such rigid family tradition of not teaching daughters in N-E-W-S(North..East....) parts of India. Not seen such stories in typical Bollywood movies as well.Which part of the country does this story belong to?

As an after thought if this 720 female is real then I must say she is above all of us to have lived in a family worth atleast $100M, yet take loans to study thn give gmat,n plan a US education! A person who would have gone thru such hardships does not need an MBA..he/she has already learnt all tht could taught at any of these schools.

I don't think I would give a personal info here. Send me PM and I would surely give you more examples. Just going through hardship doesn't mean that you don't need MBA. She took loans to fund her engg degree which is very common. But the point I was making was. she was not required to take loans considering the richness of her family.. Yes its definitely hard to believe given the perception that everybody is rooting for female education..But the reality is .Its still not a common phenomenon and the top -schools are aware of these facts and that’s why they are helping in the promotion of women.

Hmm... just noticed that yahoo is delaying my Sloan mail by ~13hrs (time it appears vs. last header timestamp). What email addy are invites coming from? I want to see if I can keep them from being spam-checked, which is what I figure causes the delay.

I see that MIT does not let applicants choose the interview locations. I understand that it's hard for them to conduct all the interviews since alums are not participating in the process, but do they just expect everyone to fly to Boston from all over the country? This would be even more difficult for us, internationals; who knows which hub city they will ask us to fly to? On the other hand, I am ready for anything as long as I get the invite. :-D

I do not think that getting a loan to study means anything. I also got a loan for tax purposes and because of the low APR. I never thought it was something worth mentioning anywhere.
