In my interview, my interviewer said that the results would be released exactly on 14th but no later than 5pm. So, I think that we won’t hear anything until wednesday.

Heard focus of Orientation is largely to find housing, check out schools for kids, and to some extent, meet the outgoing class.
I was a R1. Went through 2 interviews.
1st email informing me of interview was early Oct. Did live interview, then skype interview 2 weeks later.
Was informed of acceptance on 1 Nov by phone, then 2 Nov letter in my online MIT account.
Thrilling process.
For those of you who are waiting - good luck.
If you get accepted, you need to start preparing for the move fast - think about apartments, budget, transpo, moving family, going solo, etc.
The checklist is long. Signing up your Kerberos, MIT email, Sloan AdMIT, IST, MySloan - seems intimidating, but once you get through all the Admin, feels good.

Menset - the second interview is an interesting insight. Did you see that happen with many other people too who got selected in R1.

I haven’t heard the second interview in this group for R2, maybe some of us are going through it now. Most of us are waiting for the outcome on the valentine day....

During my 1st live interview, I was told by interviewer that I'd be contacted for a 2nd interview so Adcom can get to know candidates from many facets.
I would say that if you've looked at the "MIT Interview Tips" videos on youtube, you should prepare accordingly.
They are easy questions, but could be tough if you don't have candor answers.
I didn't get the jovial attitudes of interviews that others posted of.
For my 1st interview, I was the last leg on a 5 country, nearly 15 day trip around Asia, so my interviewer was exhausted - i could see it.
For 2nd interview, standard meet-and-greet, and very straight-forward...almost mechanical to be honest.
After the 2nd interview, interviewer asked if I had any comments or questions - use this to sell 1 more thing about you or the process, or the school.
Thats my advice

The number of registered admitted students still 25. If they want to have a class of 100 students or so, that means a large number of acceptance letters will be sent next week..I guess nearly 50 or 60 applicants will be accepted.. wish you all the best... be optimistic and keep up the amazing attitude..
