Heard focus of Orientation is largely to find housing, check out schools for kids, and to some extent, meet the outgoing class.
I was a R1. Went through 2 interviews.
1st email informing me of interview was early Oct. Did live interview, then skype interview 2 weeks later.
Was informed of acceptance on 1 Nov by phone, then 2 Nov letter in my online MIT account.
Thrilling process.
For those of you who are waiting - good luck.
If you get accepted, you need to start preparing for the move fast - think about apartments, budget, transpo, moving family, going solo, etc.
The checklist is long. Signing up your Kerberos, MIT email, Sloan AdMIT, IST, MySloan - seems intimidating, but once you get through all the Admin, feels good.
Menset - the second interview is an interesting insight. Did you see that happen with many other people too who got selected in R1.
I haven’t heard the second interview in this group for R2, maybe some of us are going through it now. Most of us are waiting for the outcome on the valentine day....
