great interview with soojin posted on poets & quants:
https://poetsandquants.com/2011/12/15/th ... -business/

looks like if you were interviewed, you have a 70% chance of getting in! i love how transparent ross is.

Soojin is even responding to questions on the comment wall at Poets and Quants already. Very awesome! Definitely reinforces the vibe that I got from meeting the adcom that they definitely care about their applicants and are willing to go those extra steps to make sure everyone receives a positive experience.

^^ i just saw that! wasn't expecting that but i'm definitely really impressed with soojin and her team. i would think they would have some figures from previous years though since they've been doing super interview saturday for at least 2 years now.

One thing that puzzles me is why Ross takes so long to process R1 applications? :) If you check the very top of the forum, there are names of peer schools that release decision already THIS week.

i know! want the decision already! but from her blog post today: https://rossblogs.typepad.com/admissions ... or+Blog%29

Quote:
I know many of you are anxious and wonder why we can't get decisions out before the holidays. The answer is that we want to make sure we give full consideration to each and every applicant, and not just use stats and numbers to make decisions. It took a lot of time to prepare your apps; we want to give it the proper time for review as well.

Can anyone tell if Ross makes the Recommenders fill out a form with Multiple choice questions etc before asking the Main Questions?? I'm trying to estimate the time my manager needs to fill out the recommendation.

Guys,
That I heard from the current students in Ross and peer schools, Ross has significantly deteriorated its loan conditions, primarily increasing the interest rate and adding various commissions. Any feedback on that?

Some fellow applicants including myself knew that Ross will extend offer to 70% of those interviewed (check 2011's applicant's thread, the percentage matches).

But now since Soojin has declared that those interviewed in R1 have a 2 out of 3 chance of making it in and if I don't make it I'll be hitting myself badly!!

So how much percent interest the next incoming candidates have to pay?

I think it's canceled all together. See the 2nd comment on poets & quants:

Called today and yes, it's canceled with no replacement program in place. Means Ross goes from having one of the most favorable loan programs to one of the least favorable. Most other schools offer no-cosigner loans up to tuition at least.

Think i have to stop my application. No point in applying if i can't attend
What is everyone else here planning on doing?

No harm in applying in my opinion...If you can make yourself stand out, who knows you might even get a great scholarship!

Thanks scorpionz,

realistically, the chances of scholarship are low.

the opportunity cost is the real harm.
i could spend the time and money applying to Ross (and would still have trouble finding a loan up to attendence even w/ a great scholarship), OR i could spend the time applying to Duke where i could attend without this issue.

Anyone applying to/interviewed by the Tauber Institute ?

i applied to and interviewed. Interview went similar to any other MBA interview. It was about Tauber but you don't have to know every intricate detail about the Tauber program, just main points like IPD, Internship... cant think of anything else right now... does that help?
