I think you are coming from the Detroit point of view. Times have changed now - Ross is a bit of everything for everyone with a relatively strong footprint in Consulting (all top 10 schools are strong in consulting) closely followed by Manufacturing and Technology sectors. Thanks for the response and link to the placement report. Is Ross considered a "Top 10" b-school? I see Ross placed in the top 10 in some rankings but in others they place 11-13 as well. Does this matter at all to employers?

Ross is considered among the best/top B-schools. Instead of generalising how employers look at Ross (which they do, very favorably), I'd suggest looking at whether the companies/industries that you're interested in working at post your MBA. I wouldn't suggest looking solely at rankings and trying to figure out how schools are. Look deeper at your own interests. Rankings are only they starting point in B-school search and should not be used as the sole criterion for selecting a B-school.

Ross is known as a marketing school, and a variety of industries hire for marketing (tech, CPG, auto). But I think a majority of our students go into consulting.
