On the contrary, it would be quite helpful to those who haven't been invited to interview yet. At least they'll have a clear decision and would be able to make necessary plans (with 2 weeks of advance notice).

I agree that aspirants will have time to prepare applications for other schools, but with months of hardwork for GMAT and then applications, this dreaded mail nobody wants. But Kudos to Ross, for decreasing the agonizing wait time.
