No word limit. Write as much as you want. But you got only 10 mins - and as with any fair applicant, you'll spend a good minute or so trying to devise your essay structure - what is apt, what anecdote really maps to the problem statement and so on. I am a decent GRE test taker, and the experience felt similar to writing issue prompts - so that helped.
