Has anyone got an invite that's not consulting background (MBB or non-MBB)!? I feel like they are inviting a ton of consultants...

Well there was an entertainment sector invite the other day but nothing yet in social ent or eng or science or law or army etc

Illuminator: Are you just basing this off of the GMAT Club forum? I don't believe the sample to be robust.

Does anybody know how long it usually takes after you register your interview preferences to actually be contacted with further instructions and interviewer contact?

I received an invite last Thursday, updated my preferences on Friday, but haven´t heard back since then. I know it´s just been a couple business days, but wanted to understand how exactly it works.

I think they're still trying to match you with an interviewer alum -- they're all busy alums so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a hit and miss for GSB too...email 1 alum, sorry can't do, email another....etc. If you don't hear back by Monday then drop them 1 line.

Also what region are you in? It may be harder to arrange an alum there.

My coworker got the invite in the first week - non-traditional industry.

Writing Stanford off too - the obsessive email checking has been too stressful. I'm not even asking them to get it all done in a day like Wharton, but at least try for 1 week! I'm just going to keep my head up and remember the saying that it's not about where you get your education, but what you do with it. There are quite a few HBS grads here in my office who report to non-MBA AND younger leaders.
