Hello! I work at a Non Profit Organisation in the Education space, and I wanted to understand:
1. What is the process of applying for scholarships? and are there any specific ones oriented towards those coming from this background?
2. What are some of the differentiating factors at Stanford that cater to those coming from a social impact background?

Checking it out. Thank you for the tip!
And I want to add that I’m already amazed by the calibre of the admitted students in the MSx class. They are experienced, diverse and well networked. And it’s just one year so the opportunity cost is lower for mid career professionals

This was the hardest for me. Approach I used - Introspect on important life events right from childhood, important decisions you have taken like switching majors in college/ switching jobs/ leaving certain opportunities and then try thinking why you made the choice you did. That will help you narrow down what actually matters most to you. It is not easy or fast, it is a frustrating, lengthy but rewarding process that will help you get started.

Can I as an applicant see the format my recommender gets to fill? Wouldn’t it be beneficial to discuss with the recommender on what kind of questions needs to be answered and what’s the format available? Especially managers ask these questions for writing LOR

Hi! I would like to hear from the both of you about your thought process for the essay? Could you provide some tips, resources or questions you asked yourself while drafting it? I really struggle with this part so woudl appreciate any help!
Good questions. I actually started by reading the essays of the admitted students and found the pattern. I see that they like to see your self reflection on why you are doing an MBA and think big on the goals. Connecting your personal stories to your motivation followed by the ethos of GSB (change lives, change organization and change the world) is the key imo

Since Stanford is need based, if admitted you can qualify for aid. In addition, you can still look for scholarships independently based on your country of residence/ gender. More can be found here : https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/programs/m ... ancial-aid

Another good question. You can find the questions once the application portal opens. I can send you the ones from last year if that helps. All my recommenders asked for a draft so I simply drafted the letters for them for them to take it from there
