I would disagree slightly with one of earlier answers to this question. If the school says 2 page resume is fine, then I think you must try to utilize that bit of leeway to your advantage, isn't it? After all you would want to highlight your achievements of your professional career without missing out on critical details. I think 1.5 pages should be fine provided you have moved firms and need to put in those extra details for every job change. I had a 1 page resume but when I changed to 12 size font, it went to 1.5 pages. But in my case I have over 11 years work experience and have moved 5 firms. Hope that helps. All the best.

I would suggest let your recommender be honest in terms of his view on areas where you need some improvement. For e.g. the recommender can mention how you work in a team and what better you could do. I think the recommender has to be intelligent enough to put the thought in such a way that it doesn't come out as if he is placing a big question mark on few of your skills. I found that my recommendations from Indian managers were always so lifeless that one could not make out if the recommender was positive or negative about me as a candidate for an MBA. I also believe that B-schools must have got used to receiving less than enthusiastic recommendations and are still able to make out what your strengths are. All said, this is one critical part of the application and make sure that recommendations do not contradict your resume and essays.

Oft asked question on resumes but asking again for clarity. Tepper's specifics on resume to have a standard font with size 12 AND double spaced, makes my otherwise 1 page resume run into the second page. Although Tepper mentions 2 page resume to be acceptable, do you think it is really desired? A bit of crisis here!

I would suggest try to fit 1 page but I believe the school believes that 2 page may be required for candidates requiring to put bit more of details because of: a. Slightly longer work experience (more than 5 years) b. More than average extra curricular involvement

I need some guidance. I think I'll be able to apply to only one out of Tepper and UNC. Is it true that one stands a better chance of scholarship at Kenan-Flagler than at Tepper? Any down-sides of UNC? Is there a big difference between the rankings? I'm a 28yo Indian male applicant. Any guidance is appreciated.

I think you've misread the instructions. The resume is supposed to be 12 pt. font, but not necessarily double spaced: "Your resume should be 1-2 pages highlighting the achievements you have made in your professional career, using a standard (i.e. Times New Roman or Arial), 12-pt. font." The essays, on the other hand, have to satisfy both requirements: "There are two required essays for all Tepper MBA applicants and should be double-spaced, using a standard (i.e. Times New Roman or Arial), 12-pt font."

Should the recommendation be also submitted by 5th Oct to be considered for R1?

RG800, I know the deadline is like ASAP but I figured I would reply anyhow. I know many students at Tepper with scholarship money (myself included). I was admitted to Kenan-Flagler as well, without scholarship money. Just my personal experience.
