I know a guy who went to Georgetown in R3. He had a GMAT of 770

I’m a lawyer, Indian and gmat 730. I have a good extracurricular profile.

What would you say are my chances?

Yes he is indian. Sorted out the visa in time and got into the school

I heard Tepper waitlists most of the applicants, is that true?

Then you’re good for any school not just Tepper. Lawyers are rare so that can act as your differentiator.

Yes they do waitlist aplenty in round 1 and take in aplenty in round 2. Actually every school does that. This is why round 2 is most school’s biggest round in terms of admits. So it isn’t something unique to Tepper. I know Ross and Kellogg do that too.

Post interview my interviewer specifically mentioned that I will get my status update on 8th via an email and then I should open the portal to view the decision.

Knowing that Tepper typically gives a phone call to the admitted students, should I consider his statement as hinting towards an imminent rejection?

Round 1 decisions were released exactly on the decisions day. So the same can be expected for round 2.

Although almost all the admitted candidates received a phone call, I know a girl who didn't receive the call but got the admit via an email few hours later. So I think they try to reach out to every admitted candidate via phone but if they're unsuccessful, they simply share the result via an email.

I didn’t receive any call...my interviewer said he tried reaching out to me though but he couldn’t... I came to know of my admit through portal update

I got email from interviewer next day

Meanwhile I myself checked on the portal .... At 1:30AM IST ...as I couldn’t sleep that night thinking I got rejected as I didn’t receive any call

I got the call from my interviewer at around 6 pm IST on the decisions day (morning time in ET).
