Hi guys, curious, what made you decide to apply to Tepper? I always thought it’s more STEM-focused.
Appreciate your thoughts, thanks in advance!
Hi there,
I think any T-20 MBA can give you the platform to achieve your goals - ultimately, your drive and focus make the difference.
That said, Tepper offers some distinct advantages:
Small class size: With one of the smallest cohorts among top schools, the community feels genuinely close-knit. Every student I’ve spoken with has emphasized how approachable classmates, faculty, and alumni are - and from my experience, that’s not just a tagline.
Strong outcomes in finance and consulting: Tepper is somewhat undervalued in these areas. The school has a strong Wall Street reputation (everyone knows who Tepper is), and while Cornell may send more people into IB, Tepper’s smaller size means less internal competition and strong access to recruiters.
Quantitative rigor: Tepper’s analytical, data-driven curriculum builds a deeper understanding of financial and strategic concepts - a major advantage in today’s finance and consulting roles, in my opinion.
Location: Despite being in Pittsburgh, Tepper places very well nationally -especially on the West Coast and in New York. Plus, the cost of living and focused environment allow you to make the most of your two years.
