For the R1 candidates, can you’ll please let us know what happens in the Darden waitlist appointment? Also, do we need to prepare for anything?

Most likely, just prepare to hear absolutely generic blanket statements like "hang in there" and "there are no specifics" that could apply to any and every waitlisted candidate.

A member from the adcom will tell you what to improve to make your application more competitive. Note that there have been folks who weren’t asked to update anything. All the best.

Have scheduled my chat next week with adcom A quick question for the waitlist candidates, in your experience are decisions on waitlist status always released along with round decisions. Or they can come early. Asking because saw a couple of WL to Admit in Jan/Feb.

I am a part of the early action round. We were told by the admissions committee would start taking people off the waitlist in February since that is when the down deposit was due for round 1 applications. If I had to take a guess, I would say they will take people off the waitlist a week after 3/25 since that is when down payments are due for round 2.

Have any candidates got into Darden with a GMAT waiver this year???

I had my meeting with my Darden waitlist manager 2 weeks ago, and he told me that he felt he could vouch for me getting off the waitlist more compared to other applicants he talked to, and he said based on what he is reading from the application reviewers they wanted me to elaborate more on my why marketing, and to send my completed MBAmath transcript just for extra emphasis. I am skeptical if he says that to every waitlist candidate or not so trying not get too hopeful.
