They keep saying that Yale is notorious for sending out interview invites very late in the game. I didn’t think they were going to be THIS late. How can they send an interview invite 2 days before the decision date? Won’t the applicant schedule the interview, then give the interview, then have the adcom evaluate his profile IN CONTEXT of other applicants’? This makes no sense.

Word. I think I’ll just take the rejection, for real. I’d rather deaden prospective hopes instead of lessening my mental health. Gotta keep things in perspective.

I feel you. I’ve been deadening hopes for almost my schools one by one. It’s tougher than I thought it’d be. I also either keep getting rejected, or waitlist w/o interview, or the school seems to forget about the existence of my application altogether.

Unless they will also WL without interview invites?

The WL without interview have notoriously increased. It seems like schools keep hoping for the best candidates to fall from sky and apply in R3 and frustrate the applicants who put in efforts to apply on the first place.

Unless they will also WL without interview invites?

One of my friends is WL from R1 and put much effort into WL management. She retook her test as she was told that the score needed to be up. She has given up with no updates and will join Darden.

Maybe it is just my circle, but I know many applicants who are frustrated with how Adcom is managing applications this cycle?

Oh wow! This seems cruel, retaking the test is very difficult considering most of us work and it is hard to take out time for studying.. Glad your friend had an alternative option! But yeah, Yale has been weird this round.

I dont know about different, but the school has been saying that they may extend interviews way later than they usually do... It being weird is just my opinion though! About the waitlist feedback I dont really know..
