I think it’s alphabetically. Because the first name started with A for the three people who texted here regarding the interview invites

Nobody does things alphabetically by first name though 😅 It’s usually last name.

I suspect they’re interviewing people whose academics or professional experience is clearly outstanding first. Bruce’s email indicated all our applications have been reviewed briefly and that usually they start the deep dive reviews with academics first.

You still have greater chances than most males as per my judgement

I hope your essays reflect the reasons for academic performance. If you canbalance that with good career trajectory, you will probably have multiple calls

But take my opinion with a pinch of salt. If most profile from your country are like this then it can be an issue

Thanks for your feedback! Tho I got rejected without interview invites in R1 from Booth, Sloan, and Tuck. :/

Booth and Sloan can be difficult. Especially Sloan because CGPA and numbers are very importnat for MIT. Look from college perspectives what is possible

If you are targetting colleges in the rankings similar to Yale, I think you will have more chnaces becasue of your experience and GMAT. And then quality of essays are very subjective and a small amount of luck factor kicks in if the reviewer like your story

When I said they first check that, I meant I believe that’s their first filter at the beginning. Basically, they seem to give priority to interviews for people who have great result so paper, but remember they still go back and look at everything else.

So yes, you will still stand a chance for sure if your other application components are good.

*Great results on paper.

I finished my video questions/ behavioral assessment on Saturday and was invited for an interview on Wednesday. For context, I went to a T20 undergrad with 3.6 GPA, 740 gmat, 6 yoe, and focused on social impact.

I don’t think you were rejected because of your GPA because that GMAT would make them salivate, along with a Turkish passport. And an international GPA does not factor into the class profile. I think maybe there’s something going on with your goals, overall execution of the application or even more likely the recommenders. Of course, the recommendations will likely be “good” meaning not-negative but they may not add value, tell your story or differentiate you. I had a client with a much lower GPA from a US school (and lower GMAT) from an underrepresented country get into Haas. As an FYI Yale SOM has stated that they pay a lot more attention to recommendations than the essay and they need to tell your story.

I gave another GMAT exam recently. I have received the same score as before but my Quant score has reduced and the Verbal has increased (IR reminaing the same)

Should I report the recent one?

Before: Q50V36
After: Q49V37
