Same question as ksc...if we are R2 and don't live in the bay area and didn't get an invite, does it mean we are done? I get it the interview invite is on a rolling basis, but don't they have to go through all the non-bay area profiles before sending out invites? Also, do they send out super day invite all at once or is this invite also on a rolling basis?

I wouldn't attach too much weight into this event in terms of whether receiving an invite means a whole lot. Reading through the agenda and the e-mail, this event features panels + interactions + group activities + socializing opportunities... basically a roundup of events where the adcom folks can observe and engage with a small sample size of this year's prospects stuffed into one room. My gut feeling is that only a few people from each field/ethnicity/background/etc received this invite. If I was on the adcom side of the house, I'd want to diversify as much as possible to intensify the scheduled activities with all sorts of different views thrown in the boiling pot. As far as the selection criteria goes... your guess is as good as mine. I think what helped me is that I come from an underrepresented background. My GPA and GMAT are far lower than yours... so quantifiably, you're all much better candidates than I am.
In sum, don't worry about it. Your invites are coming... probably when you least expect it. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this event so hopefully my slot can go to someone else for this awesome opportunity. I'll RSVP ASAP out of respect for everyone else.
