Describe your short-term and long-term career goals, and how the MBA will help you achieve those goals. Include in your discussion: Why is now the appropriate time to pursue an MBA, and why are you interested in obtaining a Rice MBA? (Maximum 750 words) 2. Describe a time when you successfully transformed an idea into action. How did your leadership and interpersonal skills contribute to this experience, and how will this experience impact your contribution as a team member at the Jones School? (Maximum 750 words) 3. Choose ONE of the following four essay topics (maximum 750 words): * Describe a defining moment or event that changed your life. Include its impact on you and how it altered your view of the world. * Describe your perfect day. (Assume you have no restrictions, financial or otherwise.) * If you were given the superpower of your choice, what would it be and why? How would you use your superpower? * What historical event would you like to have witnessed or participated in, and why? 4. It looks like this thread has become quite popular. It's only going to get better when tomorrow's admits roll in.

I was looking at some other threads and noticed that this one has more activity and participants than the Kelley and Goizueta threads (I frequently troll those threads because I was admitted there and seriously considered attending both). That's really saying something considering those programs are very popular and usually have well over 1,000 applicants per year. It just goes to show how Rice is emerging as a solid program with excellent potential and people are starting to take notice.

I & my wife have both got admit into Rice with (22K/yr scholarship) to each of us..
The dilemma is : I have an admit in ISB (Indian School of Business); my wife didn't apply to ISB and now I have to decide between ISB & Rice and my mind/Heart is 50/50
any suggestions ??
Our profile is : Both working at Schlumberger in UK, my GMAT: 720/6, come from India from Top engineering colleges & 4 yrs of work-ex with SLB..

wow..Congrats on admission to both of you.Both are great schools. I guess now its a matter of your post MBA goals. If you want to get a global MBA experience Rice is a better option. I am from Hyderabad and know that the student diversity at ISB needs to improve. Also, Rice is known better as a Finance/Energy program. Is this something you guys are looking at? If so I would suggest rice.
