MBA Spotlight Fair is less than a week away! NYU Stern is participating and you can find their YouTube and Zoom sessions' schedule in the link below. Remember you have to register to attend these sessions so I would advise you to register right away!

Im also interested in knowing if Indians should even consider applying in R3 or wait till next year?

I have applied in R3. I might sound naive, but I don’t think applying in round 3 is disadvantageous if you have a strong and diverse profile and a convincing reason to explain for not applying in the earlier rounds if asked in an interview.

Applying in R3 has some disadvantages for sure. Seats usually get fill in R1 and R2. I have attended many adcom events. I found out from those events that it is always better to apply in R1&R2.

Traditionally, only five or 10% of the class is assembled from R3 applicants.

R3 is a weird round and intended for last minute changes and shifts. A normal applicant will be dinged in R3 is the rule of thumb. Only non-traditional ones (pro athletes, astronauts, etc) have a chance 😂

Do you think this still holds given how NYU staggers its phases differently from other T20 schools (2 rounds before R3 deadline in January)? Also what impact, if any, will there be given that NYU moved up its R1 and R2 deadlines by a month this year compared to prior application cycles?

You can choose up to three specializations but you can take elective classes up to 30 credits in whichever specialization that you like.

Sure. I did. However my waiver was from being a graduate from NYU. I think the GRE/GMAT is only a benefit to the application. But if you had a waiver it won't negatively impact your chance of admission.

In which email did you get link to the zoom interview? Was it in the email titling "Your Upcoming Virtual Interview with NYU Stern"?
