Waitlisted without interview

How would getting off the waitlist work in this scenario? Would you still need to interview to obtain an admission or it would be a direct admit (assuming you succeeded in getting off waitlist).

Show up in the lobby. Jkjk. Participate in admissions events get your face and name out there. Draft an update letter. Hopefully after getting a promotion job upgrade or test score increase, but could also be so much as community leadership role. Get a ding assessment before drafting the update letter so you can sneak in added commentary on areas you now recognize as weak like if you had fuzzy goals.

Have an admissions consultant review your CV, essays and recommendations to figure out where you went wrong and what you need to do for the next attempt

Thank you! Hope you make it off the waitlist :)

My portal is no longer showing the “we hope to release your decision soon (…)” but I haven’t received any communications from stern 🥲

Posted from my mobile device

Does your portal say “we hope to release your decision soon”? Did you already have interview? My portal has been saying “Your application is complete and currently under review with the Admissions Committee” and has never changed

Yes, I interviewed over three weeks ago. It used to say “we hope to release your decision soon” but has changes to “should you wish to inform bla bla additional information” so I’m guessing maybe I’m waitlisted? But I haven’t received an email yet

Update: I got in! 🥳 my portal was updated (no email, no phone call)

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!

Congratulations!

Anyone else here who submitted their application in Round 3 still waiting to hear an update? There has been no change of status on the portal and no email/call for me since 2 days after the application submission. It shows everything was submitted as of 15th January including the recommendation and application fees. And that's it.

I'm in the same boat. We're technically not out of it yet but it's got to be WL or ding at this point.

edit: I've noticed everyone who's in this situation seems to be applying from Asia - maybe this is linked to geo's?

A friend of mine from India got a ding last week. We had both applied on the same day. TBH, even if it's a ding, I'd like to know that that's the case. But also, knowing I'm not the only one waiting makes it a little bit better :D
