In an event that was hosted before the R1 deadline, KF's Career Center had spoken at length and also shared the Class of 2021 employment outcomes. Guys, i had a question about STEM mba...if you dont get a job in the stem elective which u study, you dont get opt extension?

yes.. your job has to be related to STEM

how can u establish that? i have heard people do stem jobs but then they have to prove its stem...any idea on how thats done

Your job designation and information provided by your company about your day-to-day role will help prove that.

UNC has a STEM MBA without the elective restriction right? Does that mean Consulting would come under a STEM job?

Yes, consulting is a quant-heavy job in general but paperwork will have to be submitted by UNC stating that the MBA is STEM and your employer stating that you will be work in a quant-heavy role. All MBAs at UNC are STEM by default I believe.
