Your only "down" point is your GMAT score but I think you'll probably be OK with it as the rest of your profile is great. No guarantees of course!

Right, that's really the feedback I was expecting to get. I know the GMAT is a bit weak for my target schools, but I'm hoping the work experience and GPA will compensate enough.

You GMAT score is in the right range. I don't think you have to apologize for it. Ross admissions looks at candidates very holistically. If you really want to come here, consider taking some visible first steps. Specifically, reach out to student ambassadors, and consider a visit in person (VIP). These things go a long way, IMO.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to give some feedback, here's my profile. Any commentary/advice/etc. would be much appreciated. Ross is probably going to be the biggest stretch of all the schools I plan to apply to, but I'd love to get your thoughts.

About Me:

Caucasian Male
26 (5 years of work experience)
GMAT: 680
GPA: 3.94 (from a mid-tier west coast private school)
Undergrad: Double degrees in Finance and Economics (Summa Cum Laude in both).

Work Experience

Finance (fairly high visibility role) at a large Silicon Valley tech company (think Google, Apple, Facebook). I've also done a stint overseas as well, not sure if this would be beneficial for my application.

Extracurriculars

Working as a finance mentor with a non-profit organization to advise startups in developing countries on their books and how to best position themselves financially for potential investment.

Thanks for sharing this: the profile is really good and it is absolutely worth a shot to apply. Although there will be plenty of applicants with GMAT score of 700+, please remember that all parts of applications are important. I would strongly recommend to send your application.

Good luck and Go Blue!

Ross does look at people holistically-- so I am glad you applied! In terms of what I see in a snapshot-- your weakest link is the GMAT... which depending on how everything else presents-- may or may not be enough. I think your work experience looks great-- and the international assignment is definitely a plus.

I would also say that it is VERY important to engage Ross directly-- so do visit, talk to students and do all you can for them to know that you REALLY want to go here and you know WHY! Best wishes to you!!
