1) how serious of a mistake is this? It was obviously not intentional but with hindsight I realize this at best looks stupid, at worst, intentionally misleading.
MINOR MISTAKE, MOST SCHOOLS DO NOT SEEK TO CONFIRM THIS INFORMATION, ESPECIALLY PRE-ACCEPTANCE
2) how do I best address this with the admissions team? I want to be honest with them but also not make this a huge distraction from the rest of the application.
I WOULD LEAVE IT ALONE, IT IS MINOR AND WILL NOT SWAY THEIR PERCEPTION OF YOUR CANDIDACY. ALSO BY THE TIME IF ADMITTED YOUR SALARY WILL BE REFLECTED APPROPRIATELY WITHIN YOUR COMPANY FILES, BUT AGAIN MOST SCHOOLS WILL NOT SEEK TO VERIFY THIS INFO
Hi Dozie,
Thank you for your response! I'm afraid I don't want to not tell them just because I think they're not going to find out - I was more curious about the severity of a mistake like this and decide based on that if I should inform them. It sounds that based on my situation this isn't a very serious mistake and something that wouldn't require me to bother their already busy schedules (especially since I may not even be invited for an interview). Thanks!
D
