In any case I think they've got a topic to work on for a re-application "how have you developed since your last application" essay.

I work with everybody. After a long higher education record of 10years (college + grad school), means i worked with everyone. Even the conglomerate i work for, women left and right. I think one point i forgot to mention is that, if i can convince the 2nd year female student of the awesomeness of my file, then my business career is set...because i would be able to sale anybody 'snow' here in Chicago in winter...! :) The salesman of the year!

I'm starting to think this is a fake profile; at least, I hope that it is.

i like how nyama's GPA went from 2.5 to 3.98 and GRE went from Q151 V163 (total 314) to Q163 V163 (somehow still total 314) after kingfalcon said "keep in mind that the internet isn't *really* anonymous; the Booth adcom could probably figure out who you are if they wanted to."

I think the writing style would be the biggest give-away, assuming he wrote his own essays.

Or how about the fact that he has a PhD and completed 2 MA's and working on a 3rd MA. That type of education background is certainly distinct and memorable to adcoms.

I don't know too many PhD's who had a 2.5 unless it was earned online #ijs

Apologies if this has already been asked for R2 (I saw that it is a 2nd year for R1), but are we interviewed by 2nd year students for sure? Or is it a toss-up between students and admissions committee members?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry forgot to mention that; yes for on-campus interviews.

Thanks for the reply!

Wow, you don't know when to stop!

I will echo kingfalcon's post; you've divulged an incredible amount of personal information, regardless of your comical GPA and GRE change (which has been ironically memorialized by the previous post). How many international students are currently in MA programs in Chicago? And how many of those were invited to interview? It would be completely ignorant and naive to think that the Adcom wouldn't see your post and deny your admission. Then again, ignorance seems to be your forte.

I, for one, am sitting back and enjoying Nyama's(?) posts. It's hysterical to listen to a person who hasn't got a clue insist more and more vehemently that he Does Too have a clue. Beats waiting around for the darn MIT interview requests / dings, although I'm feeling less confident now that I know I'm up against a future president of some country somewhere.

Addendum: anyone who wants to meet up in Chicago end of Feb or March 1, shoot me a message.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum & came here looking for guidance in relation to admission to Booth. I am from India, so don't know if there is any Indian prospective student/alumni in here or not, but hopefully there is someone who can answer my query.
My Profile:-
Xth - 83% XII - 78%
Did my Engineering in Comp Science from a state univ with 70% marks.
Decent extra curriculars in college.
Work ex - Involved in my family business(Exporter & manufacturers of textile items from India) for last 3 years, will be applying next year so work-ex will be around 4 years.
Haven't given GMAT yet but I am targeting to get around 740-750 which I think is quite reachable.

I wanted to change my career path by joining a top B-School & migrating to finance field(passion/interest being the reason). Just wanted to know what are my chances of getting into a top B School & whether it is possible to change my field to finance even though I don't have much exp in that sector? I have completed 2 levels of CFA too, a few years back keeping in mind I wanted to change my field in the future so it might help.
My main query is whether my work-ex is valuable or not, especially from the point of view of my post-MBA aspirations of working in the finance field.

Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I decided to withdraw my app from Booth. With my Sloan, Tuck, and Haas admits in hand, I feel comfortable deciding among those three (unless Kellogg offers me a massive scholarship). Hopefully someone on GC snags that interview spot and converts it into an admit!

Shenlong1234, you are better off posting in the Ask Admissions Consultants forums to get a profile evaluation. This thread is mainly for people who are applying to Booth in 2012-13 cycle. All the best!
