I got my call in early Jan and, like nycdweller, had fellowship info in my acceptance letter. I was a little bit surprised to see that it was a first-year-only offer -- is this the norm for Columbia? I've also heard that CBS is a bit less generous than say, Wharton, so curious if anyone has a sense of the "average" CBS fellowship award size...

CBS is very stingy unfortunately. The numbers of second years with fellowships is apparently very small. They did a reception during the semester for everybody and there were at least twice as many first years as second years. So if money is an issue take that into consideration. Ultimately I just considered the money I got first year as a bonus and am budgeting to get $0 for my second year.
Do you receive a confirmation email from Columbia saying the application is complete and ready for evaluation or something similar? I submitted mine on Jan 7th but have not received anything other than the payment successful email and an automated system email sent immediately after submission.

Hi. I only got a payment received email and another from CBS saying "Thank you for submitting your application to Columbia Business School; we look forward to reviewing it."
It seems like that is all you receive (what more do you want!?) and the next email will be when your status changes...
Wow! that was super quick between the interview report going in and the call.. What was your interview like?

I was surprised myself... I didn't expect anything until Friday at the earliest. The interview was extremely conversational. It was at the interviewer's office. Asked the typical questions you would imagine - why MBA, why CBS, walk me through your resume. My biggest advice for those interviewing is to try your best to turn the interview into a casual conversation/dialogue between you and the interviewer.
To break the monotony of waiting, take this in. Appropriate with Bernanke's last Fed meeting today.
For those who haven't seen it, this was done by CBS students back in '06. Whatever your opinion is regarding Bernanke, this is both hysterical and prophetic considering what's happened since.
