I am starting to get a little worried because some ppl say that usually you should get a call in 14-16 days and that window has passed. I have also heard that applicants who submit on the last day will be considered as RD and not ED. That is weird cause if that is the case then why give a deadline and not follow it?
I submitted my app on Oct 2 around 10 pm est

Guys how have u calculated your GPA for the online form of Columbia. My college transcript mentions totals for individual years of the 4 year programme. Neither the gross total is mentioned for the four years nor the gross percentage is written
The reason for the question being columbia does not want GPA to be calculated if it does not appear in the transcript

Also, essay snark & others..any useful tip for reapplicants ? with 1 essay to work with, what should be highlighted. ?
second i have seen somewhere written on this forum that submitting between now and december for RD does not provide any advantage. but wont the applications for RD be queued one after the other and read in that order ? or is it that all the RD apps wil be read first and then interview decisions wil start to roll-out ? As i am a reapplicant, confused what to do

I think you're fine if you take a weighted average of your yearly gpa's and manually do it:
(1st year gpa X number of credits taken) + (2nd year gpa x number of credits taken) + (3rd......)/ Total number of credits.

so since in india institutes like mine follow percentage method, so the way to do it is to take weighted percentage for all the four years (weighted by the yearly totals) right ?

Oh sorry, I didn't know it was percentages....Not sure how you should handle that, but that should be fine. They see your whole transcript anyways, they aren't going to ding you for making a best attempt to fill out their form.

niceguy123- Why do you bother with that ? See this. CBS has changed their policy!
Hope this helps.

Can somebody please share how long does CBS give you upon offering a seat at the Class of 2016? Do you have to commit that you will enter CBS right away?

Thanks!

bagdmba . i saw the change.. i have to choose between keeping my GPA BLANK or adding all years totals and CALCULATING my percentage..the reason is i have just total score mentioned for all individual years in the transcript and not even percentage is mentioned..so do i have to keep the gPA column entirely blank or calculate percentage and put the same in it...i guess i might go with addingg up the totals of all years and mention the same in the GPA column..if that does not amount to "calculation"

niceguy123 - Okay. I think in that case you can simply go ahead do the average percentage of 4 years (say, 80% or 90%) and put that in the form.

Also, if you face any difficulty you may want to reach out to Adcom as official source is always the best for such clarification :-)

Let me know how it goes.

Hope this helps.

Last year it was like 2-3 weeks I think from getting accepted to submitting your deposit.

Just so I don't drive myself crazy, can we take a quick poll of those who submitted their apps in the last couple of days before the deadline (say, 9/30 - 10/2). I saw upthread that at least one person received an interview invite -- if that's the only invite I will calm myself down but I'm not clear if there are others. Has anyone else been asked to interview? How many of us are still waiting to hear?

Applied around 11pm on Oct 1st. Nothing Yet.
