Just got the call! I had been assuming that this was a lost cause, so here's hoping that my timeline gives any ED applicants still out there some hope!

Applied 10/02
Invited to interview 10/16
Interviewed 10/29
Feedback submitted 11/06
Received call 11/19

Here's my background:

730gmat (45q/45v)
3.74 gpa
5 years work experience (2 as consultant [not M/B/B], 2 with government, 1 with startup)
White male, United States

Congrats!! What time EST did you get the call?

Hi Joshi, sorry to hear that. I think there are multiple factors that can affect the outcome in addition to the interview. What is your profile? Where are you located? Could it be that the pool of candidates with similar profile are overrepresented?

So the review period for RD has begun. When do you think they'll begin to send out invites to RD applicants? Prior to thanksgiving?

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited to report that I received the call today!
I'm an ED applicant.
Submitted: Oct 2
Interview received: Oct 25
Interviewed: Nov 12
Feedback submitted: Nov 12
Call received (an excruciating 8 days later): Nov 20 (9:30 am EST)

I know that I was reading this forum obsessively, losing sleep, and wondering if everyone else was going through the same painful ordeal. They are. Hang in there. And stop trying to calculate the number of "ideal" days - there isn't one. And it's not over until it's over :) GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi, everyone, I am one of those unlucky guys who got deferred decision in ED. I received an email from the admission office just now, saying they would like to speak with me by phone. Is it a regular process for deferred appliants? An additional interview?

Couldn't agree with you more. I read this forum obsessively and tried to figure out what day I might get a call, what time of day, who it would be... when I finally stopped obsessing over it so much, that's when I got the call (5 days + 1 weekend later). The wait is terrible but all you can do is hope you did your best and wait for the phone to ring!

congrats BSchoolDr3eamer! seems like there's loads of opportunity for ED candidates - are there any out there still waiting after applying on the ED timeframe?

i suspect RD candidates won't get read until all the ED decisions are finalized, even if it's after the November 18th timeline, or do we think that RD candidates should be counting down 6-8 weeks from November 18th to hear back for interviews?

I received the following email from CBS on Monday:

"Thank you for submitting your Regular Decision application to Columbia Business School. Today we will begin reviewing Regular Decision applications. Please note our goal is either to invite for an interview or deny admission within six weeks of when we begin our review. Our goal for interviewed applicants is to render a final decision within two weeks of the interview report being completed."

I definitely think that they are starting to review RD applications. But I don't think that necessarily excludes ED candidates from also being reviewed. Good luck to those ED candidates eagerly awaiting a response - I hope good news is one your way.

Any RD news?

Don't think so - they only started reviewing RD three days ago, and it takes a while to assign folks to reading stacks, so it'll be a few days before we hear anything.

i think the absolute earliest we'd start hearing back for RD is 3 weeks from november 18th; we may not hear back until 3 weeks from when the last EDs hear back if they respond to all EDs first then start on RDs (like they claim). and i'm getting three weeks from what seems like the shortest amount of time between submission to interview invite during the ED application period.
