Title: Indian CS Grad → Finance/Trading MiM Abroad (INSEAD/NUS/ESSEC) – Need Profile Check & GMAT Target
Hey all,
I’m from India, graduating June 2025 with a BTech in Computer Science. I plan to apply for MiM 2026 intake at schools like INSEAD, NUS, ESSEC, SMU, WHU, RSM, Frankfurt, IE, EDHEC. My long-term goal is finance → hedge fund/venture capital → entrepreneurship back in India.
Profile snapshot:
Academics: BTech CSE, CGPA 7.60/10 .
Work/Internships: Investment Analyst (managing ₹73 lakh portfolio, +16% returns), Celonis Business Analyst internship, multiple virtual finance/tech internships (Google AI/ML, UiPath, Zscaler).
Leadership/ECs: VP Cultural Committee (₹7L fest budget, 50+ volunteers), Head of Mental Health Club, founded “Uplift Workers” NGO project, sports (cricket, badminton).
Achievements: SIH Grand Finale Top 5 (75k+ teams), Hackathon wins, published AI/finance research.
GMAT Focus: Not taken yet; aiming 625–645.
Questions I need help with:
1. I’ll have a gap year (2025–26) between graduation and MiM — what’s the best way to position it: finance internship, consulting/analytics role, or even projects?
2. Any other MiM programs (Top 50 globally) you’d recommend as “safer bets”?
I’d love some blunt feedback — especially on GMAT target scores vs my profile, and whether my gap year could be a red flag.
Thanks in advance,
Parth
