Hey everyone,

I’m from Turkey, graduating in June 2026 with a Bachelor in Business Administration. Planning to apply for Finance-focused master’s programs (MSc Finance / MiF) for 2028 intake, preferably Top EU or US schools (think LBS, HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, Bocconi, SSE, CBS, maybe US equivalents).

Career Goal: Start as an auditor at Turkey’s top bank, gain ~2 years of experience, then pivot to finance/consulting roles in EU/US, and eventually move into senior leadership / strategy.

Profile snapshot:

Academics: BBA, current GPA 3.70/4, expected 3.76/4 by graduation. Top student both entrance and GPA rankings.

Entrepreneurship: Founded an e-commerce business in first year; generated $4,000 revenue in 3 months.

Internships:
• Business Development Intern at a local software company
• Banking Internship at Turkey’s #1 bank

Leadership: While I’ve consistently led in every environment, I don’t have formal leadership titles in clubs (thinking of building something impactful in my last year).

Other: Actively exploring fintech, capital markets, and strategy-related projects.

GMAT Focus: Haven’t officially taken it yet. Tried 2 practice tests without prep → 615 & 645. Confident I can hit 735+ with 1–2 months of serious prep.

Hello Aishna,

Hope you’re doing well. They haven’t opened their application portal for this year yet, but the exact date will be released once they do.

Last year the first round deadline was in October first week, hence fair to expect it to be in October first week this year too.

Hope this helps!

Is a Master's Worth it?
Can a one-year master’s get you to the same destination as an MBA - only faster and easier?

1. Less competition: many top-tier master’s cohorts are smaller (think MIT Sloan MFin vs. MIT MBA).
2. One-year timeline: graduate and re-enter the job market in 12 months.
3. Lower cost: tuition is often a fraction of an MBA’s.
4. Comparable outcomes: similar firms recruit, though the on-campus paths differ.

For those unsure about which application rounds to choose. Is R1 or R2 the best option, and R3-R4 a lost cause for admission? How should you categorize schools into competitive, safe, and reach options when applying across different rounds?
Here is a quick framework that I used during my applications to maximise options

I am little confused between masters and mba, I have 4 yoe and it will be 5 by the time of admit. So is master really worth it or should I consider mba? Also my major concern is mba fees and job prospect after masters. Can someone please help me with this.

With 4–5 years of experience, an MBA is the better fit—it positions you for leadership roles, industry pivots, and long-term career growth. A master’s is cheaper but usually leads to specialist or entry-level roles, which may underplay your experience. If cost is the worry, factor in scholarships and long-term ROI—MBA salaries and career tracks typically offset the fees within a few years.

Thanks for your insight, but considering current market situation and being an international student from India will I even able to at least recover the fees?

Totally valid concern. MBA costs are high, but top schools usually place grads into consulting, product, or leadership roles that pay enough to recover fees within 3–5 years. For internationals it’s tougher right now, but if you target strong brands, leverage alumni, and stay flexible on geography/sector, the ROI is still achievable.

Hi,

I needed your advice on my passport situation. My Indian passport is valid till Feb 2028. I want to apply for Fall 26 intake in France. I need to take GMAT on 24th Nov 2025. I can try to get my passport renewed but the dates I’m getting for appointment are around and after 29th sept. Since passport processing takes 6-9 weeks. I am afraid I might not have my renewed passport by 24th Nov (GMAT day).

What should I do in this case? Can I use my current passport for application process and then try to get it renewed once I have an admit offer from my target colleges?

Your passport is valid until Feb 2028, so you can safely use it for the GMAT in Nov 2025 and for your applications. You don’t need to rush renewal right now. You can always apply for a new passport after submitting apps or once you have an admit, since the current one easily covers you through the process.

please confirm this with a specialist as well.
