Not to neglect the fact that Indians for sure, in general, must have a higher GMAT, but to say that a non-indian GMAT does not matter is both unfair and untrue. In the end, your GMAT is essentially at maximum 20% of your application. This means that your GMAT is relative to everything else in your application, as for everyone - so there are a lot of things besides the GMAT, even if that is the “easy” thing to point out:)
You are right about GMAT not being the only factor. But, between two equal profiles in which one is an Indian adcom will probably pick the non-Indian profile as diversity factor counts
Anyways, this is not a "sour grapes" kind of discussion, just something which I observed, looking at the trend
