The new blog post from Christine is interesting. Seems like Cornell had fewer apps this year for the AMBA program. Will be interesting to see if they offers admits to WL applicants for the 1 year program.
Seems like it would be tight with the start dates. I was always under the impression the AMBA was for advanced degrees in business (like MS Econ, or M Acc) until I saw people with MS engineering degrees get accepted.
Dont know much about AMBA, but what are the downsides to it (aside from it being a little more rigorous due to compressed schedule)? Seems like you'd save decent change(~50k) and hit the work force a year sooner.
That said, I think I'd buy into it if they gave me an offer (interviewed for 2 year program, but I have an advanced degree)
I think the downside is not having a summer internship, which is important, if you are a career changer. In terms of costs, AMBAs take full load in summer, and the tution for that is $33k, so you only save 20k. But yeah, going back into workforce 9 months early is attractive.
