Flying into JFK, then heading to Manhattan from Queens, and then stuck on a bus for another 5 hours? Sounds painful. Good luck to all that have to make that journey.
I'd say you should just fly upstate into Albany, Rochester, or Syracuse and rent a car from there. I grew up in Rochester, which is about an hour from campus (if you take the back roads).
