I have been looking for data about the acceptance rate at Cornell MBA Tech, but couldn’t find any. Does anyone know how hard is it to get in? As far I am concerned, looks like it has way less denial than others.

Hi,

Can anyone who has applied to Cornell two year MBA comment on this?

In the Goals Essay part of the application, it asks about the target company. Do we have to name just one company or can we name few companies?

I don't have any stats, but my brother got into Cornell Tech for 2021 May. He told me that the class is quite competitive and around 500 applications for the year before his batch.
Though this number is just a rough estimate and may not be accurate.
I'm applying for R1 too.

If we consider around 500 applicants, then the acceptance rate is even lower than the 2 years one. ☹️😫

Was planning to apply to Cornell Tech MBA Round 1 but I wasn't aware that I needed my educational credentials to be evaluated by WES US and that TOEFL is required for my Country(India) irrespective of the medium of Instruction in the past :(

About TOEFL, this is only true if you did not have your undergraduate course taught in english.

Now about the evaluation by WES US, I believe that it is only if you are admitted. For application purposes you may use a certified/authorized translator (with original seal).

Hi nice to meet everyone here. I am thinking of applying for R2. Any thought for an older applicant (8 years of exp) applying for this program?

The application clearly states:

English Language Proficiency Requirement
All international applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If you do not qualify for a waiver, you must report a valid TOEFL or IELTS score.

While we do not require an official test score at the time of application, an official TOEFL or IELTS score report must be reported to Cornell Tech Admissions prior to matriculation.

Please note that TOEFL and IELTS scores remain valid for two years.

Cornell Tech’s TOEFL school code is 2098. Cornell Tech’s IELTS Recognizing Organization (RO) name is “Cornell University Cornell Tech.”

**The English language proficiency requirement may be waived if the applicant meets at least one of these criteria:

Is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, or a citizen of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or Canada (except Quebec).
At the time you enroll at Cornell, you have studied in full-time status for at least two academic years within the last five years in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, or with English language instruction in Canada or South Africa. Even if English was the language of instruction at your school, if you did not study in one of these countries you are not exempt from the requirement. You must submit a transcript that shows you attended college in one of the approved locations, and that your academic program was at least two years in length.

I had to specifically reread all the Instructions after going through your response. Below is what I could find:
For WES : The admissions committee requires this evaluation prior to reviewing your application for an admissions decision.
For TOEFL/IELTS : At the time you enroll at Cornell, you have studied in full-time status for at least two academic years within the last five years in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, or with English language instruction in Canada or South Africa. Even if English was the language of instruction at your school, if you did not study in one of these countries you are not exempt from the requirement.

- I am right now at a Cornell Webinar, and they just mentioned again about the opportunity to ask for a waiver for IELTS/TOEFL if you had your undergraduate taught in english.

- I literally asked ”For application purposes, is it required for international students to have the educational credentials evaluated by WES US or am I allowed to use an authorized translator for it?”

And they answered that I am allowed to use an authorized translator for application purposes.

Furthermore, I would say that one should email Joseph Korevec, Director of Enrollment and Admissions, jk2542@cornell.edu

Hope I was able to help!

Hi indonesianfintech, I have actually looked up past and current students on LinkedIn and seems like the cumulative years of work exp vary with some having 8 or more years of work exp.

According to the CT website:
Average years of work experience: 5.5 years
Years of work experience (middle 80%): 3-7 years

I myself have around 7.5 years of work experience by now so I believe this will put us on the higher end of the spectrum/we are on the older side

Yes we are on the higher end of the spectrum. Do you know the average age of the class? May I know how old are you? I am 32 this year thank you

You can check out Cornell Tech's website for all the stats you need, it says average age is 29 for this year's cohort.
I'm 31 this year.
