Solirah what you said seems to be as per policy.

My opinion (not theirs): if you're still in a sticky situation apply in R4? Or apply and see what happens...and write to them and ask them to consider you in R4

I did some digging around to see how different organizations are responding. A few findings:

* Apply without a GMAT score for now

A part of an email one of my students received from INSEAD:
"
We encourage you to continue to prepare and finalise your application without test scores if you are living in a country affected by test centre closures. The admissions teams will start evaluating applications without GMAT, GRE, EA or TOEFL test scores while waiting for the test centres to reopen. They will advise you on the options available to enable you to provide a completed application.
"

* Take the GMAT later, if needed

"We reserve the right to request a GRE or GMAT test score if the selector is unable to make a decision on your application without this information." - LSE website

* Apparently, ETS is working on an "at home" GRE solution (https://www.ets.org/gre/important_update/)

Did everyone see the e-mail from Pearson? They are cancelling everything up to April 16th, and allegedly giving refunds but now they are saying that you need to call in and verify credit card information before they refund you? But all of their service lines are down.

Sorry. That’s super annoying to have to call. This has been the case with like 5 diff airline tickets I had and every time I call I get a busy signal :(

Hopefully can be done later and not time sensitive... sorry.

Any thoughts on whether it will negatively impact us if we've already taken it and our retake was canceled? I'm applying to Stanford and HBS and rescheduled my retake for late April. Will they end up considering my first test as the final score if I can't send the retake in until April 28th?

I know everything's uncertain right now and people probably don't know but I'd love to get thoughts! Good luck to everyone, especially those who haven't had a chance to sit for the exam at all! I wish you guys the best, hopefully schools make accommodations.

Be very careful. This is likely a spam. Do not provide your credit card information. Check if the web site is authentic and encrypted.

I just read: https://www.reddit.com/r/GMAT/comments/ ... bout_gmat/

While asking to confirm card details seems odd, not totally unreasonable. But a claim of a scam... how did they get your email? That would be an odd scam email unless they hacked Pearson or something like that.

However if it is via a website and it is a wrong URL then I would be careful for sure. The correct site is Pearsonvue.com.

Pearson also operates other sites such a as Pearson.com and direct.pearson.com is their email server. It is possible Pearson is jacked of course. Things happen... I think people are scared and panic too easily without using their cognitive abilities ;-)

Got another email from them saying that it should be cancelled now and a refund applied, no need to call in. The domain for the email address was a pearson one so I don't think it was a scam of any sort.

Refund should be initialized automatically. Just do not provide credit card information online.

GMAC sent out an email about waiving of the reschedule fees
(which makes sense since they closed the test centers). What's nice is that all exams can be reschedule no matter how far out they may be.

They have also established a website dedicated to COVID-19: https://www.mba.com/articles-and-announ ... oronavirus

Quote:
Effective immediately, we have temporarily waived all GMAT exam reschedule fees. You can now reschedule to another date and/or location (pending any travel restrictions) at no charge to you.
Our test takers are our first priority. We hope this additional flexibility will assist you should you find yourself in a situation where you cannot sit for your scheduled exam.

It will be impossible for you to take the GMAT since the test centers are closed until April 16th (and possibly longer). Many MBA programs have been providing waivers for the GMAT all the way through May (e.g. Kellogg, Stanford, and others). HBS 2+2 Program has delayed their deadline entirely by 2 months.

Hi all

First of all, wish you to stay healthy in this shaky situation
Second I have a question. I intend to apply this fall, round 1, I've heard rumors that most top schools have canceled admissions for 2020/21, because of COVID 19 outbreak. Do you have any information about that? please share

Regards

No! Rumor is a rumor, which is something that is untrue. Schools do not release R1 admissions information until summer. The earliest some of them release it is May. That’s two months away. While anything it seems it’s possible these days, it is quite a bit premature to speculate about R1. Schools are still processing R2 and R3 applicants. Why would they cancel round one next season now? Is it because they possess secret information about the virus nobody else has? :-)

You should probably find supporting information before believing somebody or ask them to produce it and then evaluate it.

That's why I'm here.

I have not found any info about 2020/21 admissions on school websites.
Have written emails to them but no reply yet, they are busy with R3 I doubt
Then I applied here.

That's the whole story.
Thanks for the reply

Right now that's a rumor. However (I mean the smallest tiniest however), things could change... As bb mentioned. Keep an eye out but don't worry right now.
