Thankfully I am awaiting admissions news not sitting the GMAT but now I'm really worried that there will be no option to defer and if I go overseas to study that I will end up learning over skype the entire time, in isolation with no social events!

Stanford announced they would accept scores a month after the deadline, give or take

Source is here I think: https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/programs/m ... on-process

Quote:
Notice regarding COVID-19
While Stanford University has moved to virtual classes, the MBA Admissions team remains dedicated to building next year’s class.

We are monitoring the situation and will post any updated policies here. As of 13 March 2020, here is the latest information for you:

In-person events such as class visits and information sessions have been canceled until further notice. Please check MBA Admission events at any time for the most updated information.
For Round 3, we will begin reading applications immediately after the deadline. Generally speaking, we expect your application to be complete at that time. However, we understand there are some unusual circumstances this year due to COVID-19.
If you had scheduled a test, but the test center (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, etc) has closed, or if you suddenly needed to change locations due to a university or office closure, please do your best to reschedule your test by the deadline. If this is not possible, we will accept unofficial test scores until 08 May 2020. Some test centers plan to offer online or other options; please contact testing agencies directly for the latest information.
If you take a required exam after 08 April 2020, submit your application on time by the Round 3 deadline, entering zeroes (“0”) in all the required fields of the “Test Scores” section. Please explain your situation in the “Additional Information” section of your MBA application. If you have valid test scores from a previous exam, you may also share those scores in the meantime - including them in Additional Information. After the deadline, once you have received your unofficial scores, please email them to us. We must receive your unofficial scores by 08 May 2020 for you to be admitted in Round 3.

In the rare event that your supervisor cannot complete your letter of recommendation on time, we encourage you to consider another recommender. However, if there is a problem in the last week before the deadline, please ask the recommender to notify us directly.

We wish you and your family good health, and look forward to reading your application in Round 3.

Kellogg has also deferred the test scores until May 1st (seems unofficial score is sufficient - it was not clear which one) https://blogs.kellogg.northwestern.edu/i ... ns-update/

Quote:
If you have no current GMAT/GRE/TOEFL score, submit a Round 3 application with all other materials. In order to do this, you must notify us via MBAadmissions@kellogg.northwestern.edu or 847.491.3308 BEFORE April 8 so we can assist you in submitting the application manually. We will proceed with an interview and an initial review of your file. If you submit a test score by May 1, we will make a decision for you by the Round 3 deadline. If you are unable to meet this deadline, we can push your decision into June and will work with you to understand when you may be able to take the test. If you need to push the date beyond that, we will transfer your application to next year so that you do not have to start the process over from scratch

Not that I see anything on the admissions site but I would expect the same exact situation. TryingToMakeIt may have some info as a current student?

Thanks!

I have a really terrible situation. I have been studying so hard to take my Gmat test last week while I am out of Seattle for now. But the test centers have been shutdown bcs of Corona situation, even my flight back to Seattle has been postponed. I have scheduled my test for 23 of March as I called UW and they told me it is fine to edit my score ONLY one week after I submitted my application. Tomorrow is the due date for submission of my application for Foster and it is the last round. Everything is fine with my application except I just realized that in WA state they have announced the emergency as well, and everything is going to be closed starting today, including UW MBA office. I don’t know what to do :(

Do you think international students will be forced to defer matriculation by a year?

I think it’s going to be tough getting visas and I’m not flying to the US and paying $200k to take online classes from a dorm.

There’s absolutely no certainty around how the pandemic will progress in the next 3-9 months.

Oh, that is a tough situation and I'm so sorry! Have you taken the exam once so you can still apply? Things are changing so drastically here, can't seem to predict anything! I'll reach out adcoms to see if they've any clarity on what the plan is.

Also, if you're out of Seattle... Any way to move your exam to wherever you are right now?

I just got this from Foster: We would be able to offer you an extension of up to two weeks, to March 30. We would be able to consider your application for Round 3 if we have your completed application and at least self-reported test scores by that date. Alternatively, we have opened an additional application round and this Round 4 application deadline will be on May 19, with a decision date of July 10. You would be welcome to choose whichever of these timelines and deadlines best accommodates your needs, and again, we are happy to work with you.

It's impossible to say whether this will happen at more universities, but here's an example of a school that has waived GMAT and GRE requirements entirely for its graduate programs in response to the epidemic: https://www.iit.edu/admissions-aid/grad ... aiver-faqs.

It's hard to imagine, say, Booth or HBS completely waiving the GRE/GMAT, but the world is losing its mind (you can't buy toilet paper or an onion in Colorado anymore!), so you never know. :)

Is it good enough to apply?

I would understand onion but toilet paper still doesn't make sense to me :idontknow:

Hi BradyMVP,

I agree that there is a strong possibility that your test will get canceled. At this point, though, you need to sit tight and see how things play out.

I've got an email from Kellogg saying they will accept applications for 3rd round without GMAT score for affected locations, but would require to take it as soon as smoke dissipates. Also from Insead with somewhat similar proposition.
