Hi,
Would appreciate some help here.
I am applying in R2 to Ross, Tepper, McDonough, Kelley, Texas McCombs.
I left my last job in September 2016. I worked with a startup till September and left if because of excessive work load and their requirement for me to work on every day including the weekends.
Even though the gap is not big, I am looking for a better opportunity right now and will join another firm only when I'll get a decent opportunity.
I am currently volunteering at an NGO in the field of education. I am also utilizing my time to learn Spanish online.
Please suggest a suitable way in which I can justify my currently unemployed state.

Hi - thanks for writing! You're right that 4 months isn't a huge gap, and your reason for leaving is understandable. The important thing is that you're using your time wisely by volunteering and learning Spanish. I would address this in the Optional Essay, noting that you chose to leave the startup because the culture wasn't a strong fit and that you've spent your time off volunteering at the NGO (be sure to mention what you've learned and the impact you've made there) and studying Spanish.
