I am an Indian living in the USA. I received my decision yesterday. They have notified me that they feel that my profile is more suitable for executive MBA and thus the are not offering me any interview for 2 yr MBA program rather they are inviting me for an interview for a EMBA program. Clearly my age and expereince have gone against my application. As EMBA is not an option for me, thus it is a ding from Darden.



Hey Man, this is unbelievable,I have never heard of anything like this ,how much experience do you have and in in what domain?

I have never heard that too, even though I read somewhere that Darden has suggested the some candidates to pursue executive MBA instead of 2 yr MBA only during the interview process. I am 30 yrs old and I have around 8 yrs experience in the IT industry.

I recently saw a video session from Kenan Flagler admission committee where she told that there are some students whose chances of employability decrease if in a full time MBA and executive MBA is better suited for them .
I think the same thing happened here. Considering your experience and future aspirations , they have felt you will be more employable after the executive MBA.

Just received an invite too, and I'm really excited!
I really loved Darden during my visit, and I almost gave up on hope in the last days!
However, my invite says that I am invited to interview remotely (Skype).
Did other international students receive this specific instruction?
Maybe they told me so because I already visited the campus, but I'd like to hear from you guys!

Has Darden sent out any mail other than confirming that the application has been submitted?
Thats the only mail I have received so far after submitting my application for R2.

And I am pretty far from being an amazing individual, hold on hope shimarstar, I was about to give up as well, and eventually I received the invite.
The waiting game sucks, but we have to stay strong!

Provided that your application is complete and they don't need extra information you shouldn't receive any "intermediate" update before receiving the invite,
it is perfectly normal!

Also do you know whether there is a specific date by when all Interview Invites are sent out by (as in the case of Fuqua/Duke, which sends out all invites/dings/waitlists by the 6th of Feb for Round 2 Applicants) ? or should I play the waiting game till the Final decision deadline of March 25th?

Any additional info would be great! :)

Honestly I have no clue, but if I were to guess I'd probably say that interview invites will be sent out reasonably for another 2 weeks or so.
This is just an estimation I made based on my feelings, so take it with a grain of salt.

When I was scheduling for the skype interview, the available dates are Feb 12, 13, 19 and 20 (26 was there but no longer available at that time). The available time slots are 8am, 9am... 12pm (noon). Although I don't know how many interviews happen during the same hour, I would say it's not that many. So my conclusion would be there are more invitations (with different available dates/time slots) that will be sent out during these couple of weeks.
