I can ask and answer some questions on my own
Q: some schools are allowing to apply with a GMAT waiver, is this a good idea? What are the chances? What are the advantages? And what are the downsides?

A: yes, if you want to apply this year, and can’t get your GMAT score in time, then, this is a good idea (and probably your only valid option).
- What are the chances? Probably 50% lower than if you applied with a 730.
- What are the downsides? Time, and money.
- Any admissions issue if I want to try this year, and worst-case apply next year? No! worst case, you reapply next year, with a good GMAT score

Hi I have around 4 years of experience and a masters degree in Engineering. I am confused between round 2 this year and round 1 next year. I am yet to finish drafting my applications very well. I am Indian male working in Canada now. I have a GMAT 700 but also plan to attempt again soon to increase to 740 +. What is your suggestion?

Question ............ R2 this year vs R1 next year. for Indian IT Male.

"Who knows vs. who knows"
It is a tough year. But there are no signs of it changing next year
If your application is "maximised" this year, (professional experience, GMAT, good apps etc.) then R2, if not, then next year

I have a 620 on GMAT but think time’s running out for a next attempt before R2. Should I apply to decent colleges now or wait for R1 with another attempt (targeting 700). I have around 7 years of experience now and believe I am running out of time for pursuing MBA

Question ........... Sometimes colleges go for round 3, is it any good to apply for round 3?

International candidates’ chances are quite low in last rounds. in this case, I usually suggest going for R1. Again, this depends on your profile, years of experience, GMAT, schools in question etc. but as a rule of thumb, international candidates should stay away from last rounds

I don’t know which schools you are aiming for and what the deadlines are
But, if your GMAT is not maximized, and your apps are not ready, and you don’t have to apply this year, it sounds smarter to apply next year...
But again, I might be missing some of the info
Why don’t you send me your CV, GMAT score and next GMAT plan and schools in question and I will look into this in greater detail? I am on Shimriw@ARINGO.com
GOOD LUCK!

7 years or 8 years are both fine
620 is considered low. for nearly any school.
I don’t know which schools you are targeting, maybe elaborate on that? and also more on your profile
BUT just don’t the basis of the GMAT, I think you might want to wait, vs. not getting in

your call of course!

Sajjad1994 hi,
Sounds like you have a good profile.
Maybe send me your CV once you have a GMAT and I will try to help further (to: shimriw@ARINGO.com)
The schools you mentioned seem to be on par, but it really depends on your GMAT and on your profile (do you have managerial experience? do you have international experience?)
Other schools? Maybe Oxford / IESE (if the GMAT is 680-710) or LBS if the GMAT goes up a bit (and lots of American options)

GOOD LUCK!

Once I’ve an admit, I’d be preparing for GMAT to get 700 as for finance roles before program commence in August next year, I’ve heard it becomes prerequisite to have GMAT. Also should I inform this to interviewer at the time of Interview?

Not sure what the question is here :)
But this sounds like a very strong candidate! and the school list Is definitely a good one (with NYU and CBS as harder to get into and the rest as more competitive) happy to answer a question, otherwise, good luck!

In terms of your GRE - these schools are realistic
But , as I know so little about you, hard to say
IT is all down to the applications - if you do a good job, then your chances are high! :)
GOOD LUCK!

Thanks
