Hi all, I wanted to get some input as I make a decision to apply for an online MBA program versus attending a traditional MBA.
A little background on myself. I'm an active duty army officer who is currently serving as a company commander. I have served in various roles from platoon leader, operations officer, logistical officer, and company commander. I am currently in my 7th year of the armed forces and will be utilizing my GI Bill to fund my tuition. I plan on staying in the army for at least two more years then seeking a career change into corporate America with a focus on consulting.
Working as an army officer I qualify for GMAT waivers from both UNC and Indiana for their online MBA programs. The main reason I'm looking at getting an online MBA while I'm still in the service is to counter the lost income of a brick and mortar MBA where I won't be able to work a full-time job and to streamline my job search with a completed MBA the same time I'll be transitioning out of the Army
Are there any current students or alumni's from these programs that can speak a little more about their pros and cons? The online application seems fairly straight forward without the GMAT, I just post my resume, list my work experience, upload undergraduate transcripts and complete the 4 essays. I have an undergraduate degree in Human Anatomy from Boston University with a 3.55 GPA and a strong resume with leadership skills and accountability with managing millions of dollars worth of equipment.

IU all the way. I don’t think the ROI for both MBAs would differ that much. I enjoyed IU MBA experience and being able to work with classmates from the fortune 500 companies and the NFL/MLB was a unique experience. I was able to keep more cash in my pocket by choosing IU and they are both ranked the same so it was a no brainer for me.
