+1. Any R1 admits with scholarship care to share their experience whether it took the whole 2 weeks before we hear anything about scholarship?

I received a scholarship phone call from an ad-com member 3-4 days after getting accepted. She told me the amount, and it was later confirmed in a paper inside the welcome package sent to everyone.

I was a R1 admit. Found out that I was successful when the website was updated (kudos to the admission staff for changing this for R2!). 3-4 days later, received a call from Megan congratulating me and telling me I'd been awarded a scholarship!

Not sure how they're doing it in R2, but I'd guess you'd get a 2nd phone call with that info within 2 weeks from last Friday.

Anyone know when login credentials are coming for the admitted student website? I think I was told on the phone call but totally blacked out for like 90% of that convo! I'm just overly excited about getting accepted and want more fuqua material!

I used the same information I used to login to the interview system and it worked.

Which interview system? I just have the application login. For my interview (by skype) I scheduled the dates directly by email with my interviewer...

Your email id and your password from the application login should work

In an online chat in 2007, Liz mentioned about a third of the class got merit scholarships. I'd be curious if anyone has more up to date info on this.

Well, according the current school profile page on Businessweek, 88% of students receive financial aid.

I suspect that number includes people who only got loans. Found a more recent chat in 2011 where Liz said the same thing - "Each year about a third of the incoming class receives some type of merit-based scholarship, but it is competitive."

Fuqua traditionally has been very stingy with scholarships. Partly because we are such a young school, and have one of the smallest endowment among the elite schools. Not only is the % of people with scholarship less than others, the amount of scholarship is smaller as well. However, I think this may be changing. I know Dean Boulding is really pushing alumni giving and general fundraising. A big part of the push is to grow the scholarship pot. Albeit, I don't know which class this will affect.

Got my admit packet today... suffice to say the increased scholarship pot didn't impact me (read: no money here). Without significant scholarship aid, I will be withdrawing within the next few days. Good luck, everyone; have a great time in Durham!

For all those interested, I'm reposting a Businessweek interview with Dean Boulding in which he specifically speaks to increasing scholarship and endowment, and Fuqua's recent success around this. Hopefully this translates to the class of 2015!
