Wow. Sorry about the test center experience… this is pretty annoying.
for GMAT online, most common issue is the lag. People answering questions and then the system taking an extra second or five to mark the answer which can be infuriating and waste time. From my anecdotal research anywhere between 20-30% are affected by at least a mild case of the lag. This is the most common issue to be aware of.
other issues are Less frequent such as proctors interrupting for security reasons.
Also, I don’t recommend it but in case your online test does it go poorly in terms of lag or interruption experience. Or in case you lose time for some reason due to technical issues, you always have the nuclear option of just unplugging your computer or killing the Internet connection which will allow you a pretty easy retake for free. (It’s a pretty big pain to prove you had issues if your exam is completed) This is not explicitly against the rules to sabotage your own test, but it is one of those things you don’t want to get caught doing.
Also, I don’t recommend that you do it unless you experience is really poor and bad. If you think you’re not doing well, because questions too hard, you actually may be doing great. Most people are not able to judge their performance accurately during the test.

AjiteshArun !

I did attempt the at-center Gmat test this weekend in Jaipur and had a very bad experience with the test center (Power went out and the air-conditioning was extremely noisy) plus i've been studying for the Gmat only at night (I have a somewhat hectic work schedule) and feel that my brain is at its peak at night, which is another reason why I was considering trying out online Gmat.
I can either book my test in an another city with a better center in a morning slot or take the test online at night. I know it might be hard for a 3rd person to comment on my dilemma, but would you have any suggestions/opinions around this? Do you think the disadvantages of taking Gmat online outweigh the benefits in my case?
Would be very grateful to hear your opinion.
Kind regards,
Karan
