What are my chances for the top 5 MiM programs

Hi,
So, NIT surat, I will assume you are Indian, you didn’t mention your gender, so I will assume you are a male (50%-50% chance here :) )
If the above is true, you do come from an overrepresented background. In addition, it seems you are a bit on the high end of work experience for MIMs (which typically look for candidates with up to two years of experience) and underqualified for an MBA (average work experience is 4-6 years).

I would say your chances are low-competitive (Nice extracurricular activities, nice job, but mediocre GMAT and GPA... ) obviously, this is just my gut feeling! and perhaps with some stellar applications you can wow the committees!

Here is another question asked by chat92........Hi,

I would like your opinion regarding my chances of getting into one of the three colleges in Round 1 (Planning 2022 September joining): Mannheim, WHU, ESMT

Age: 29
GMAT: 660 (Q-50, V-31, IR-6, AWA-6)
Nationality: Indian
Gender: Male
Undergrad: 7.7/10 - GITAM University
12th: 86%
10th: 82% %
Work: Total 7 and half years of work experience. Currently working as a Software Consultant at a Swedish engineering and solutions firm, based out of India. Have 8 months of international experience in Dubai, at an EPC company. Have provided customer training in Doha, Dubai and various cities in India.
Received 1 Half-Yearly award, 5 Quarterly awards and 2 Certificates of Appreciation for exemplary work.
Extra-Curricular: Played football at college and corporate level. Represented College at various inter-college tournaments. Represented present company at various inter-company tournaments.

Planning to take up Product management as part of my MBA program.

Hi Sajjad1994

So, your 660 is a bit low, but the rest sounds GREAT I love your international experience, both in Dubai and today while working (although from India) with a Swedish company
Your profile sounds strong and your career goals sound super reasonable.
Overall your chances should be good with a great app

If you are looking for someone to assist you with your applications and want some more info, and a deeper profile review, please send me your CV, GMAT score, school wish list and any other info to Shimriw@ARINGO.com

Numbers seem to be high... but obviously it is too early for me to get the actual info from the schools... Last year was super competitive, as you can see on our blog: https://www.aringo.com/mba-admission-20 ... ive-years/

your profile seems great, and you are right! if you compromise on the school and go for a lower-ranked school, your scholarship chances might rise.
there aren’t many 100% scholarships in EU, so I suggest you focus your efforts on schools that are ranked 30-50 in the US
Will you get in? yes, if you write applications that are decent, 100%! will you get a high scholarship (50%+), yes, if you write stellar applications and apply to enough schools...

I cant tell you where to apply to, but as I mentioned, MIMs are for candidates with less than 2 years of experience. to me this sounds like you are overqualified. you can try and apply and if you don’t get in, apply the next year to MBA programs (and yes, a higher GMAT will offset the low GPA)
GOOD LUCK!

thank you that’s really nice to hear. Could you please suggest some US schools meeting this criteria scholarship+ good network for IT PM or consulting roles. I would like to research on those then.

Another question received via subscription form........I want to ask for the minimum GMAT Score for M7, based on my profile.

Hi,
I am not sure what profile we are referring to, so I will answer this for ALL profiles
Generally speaking, I would say that for all M7s you should target a 690+.
This can be enough if your profile is unique and if you come from a different and impressive profile. if you don’t, you will need a higher GMAT... (= the schools’ average is 730. if your profile is average, you will need a higher than average GMAT...)

Another question asked by Tanmy1357........................Indian male engineer, Gmat 650, 12yrs WE(first 3 as lecturer in engineering college, next 8 in core psu mechanical maintenance management)

Keen for European mba in hope to Relocate.

Acads are mixed bag, stories can be made.

What colleges are my best shot (safe shot to secure ranked colleges).

Mannheim, rotterdam, Warwick, alliance etc is what I came to know a bit about but don’t know enough.

I already have an offer from. Top 5 colleges of India. If there’s any safe ranked college then I may leave this admission or else I’ll. Pay their fee.
