Hi All,
I first took the actual exam about 1.5 months ago, and scored a 680. Summary can be found here:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/the-first-at ... 61736.htmlAbout 1-2 weeks prior to that, I took a GMATPrep test and scored a 690. Both were on the original, longer test.
I have been studying for about 8 months, though the first 3 were chaotic and sloppy. I'm starting to feel burnt out.
Today I took a new web-based exam. The quant was a disaster, as I tried a "looser" time management system. About halfway through Quant I realized I was way behind, felt rushed, guessed on plenty, and left the last question blank. Verbal was exact opposite. I felt like I was doing fine, finished 15 minutes early, and was awarded with my worst verbal score to date. I did better on verbal previously with literally 0 prep. I've been practicing verbal more these past few weeks, and did much worse.
All in - Q39, V36 for a 620. The web platform is **** as far as breakdowns of timing and such, so it's hard to convey exactly what problem types were the worst. After a quick glance, it seems a little bit of everything for quant and SC is a huge bomb in verbal. I'm pretty sure I even found a
bugged out question, so that's an indication on how today went.
I am scheduled to take my 2nd attempt on Monday the 14th, and a hoping to beat my previous score of 680 and get above 700.
What can I do in the next 9 days to restore some confidence and figure out pacing a little bit better? Even though it was a bit of an even spread in terms of where I got questions wrong, I feel like being rushed contributed in large part to my lacking in quant. Is it advisable to take another GMAC Prep Test before the 14th? Verbal...I have no idea how I'm going to fix SC in the next week. I'm a verbal speaker and am embarrassed that it was so bad. I think I got 3 combined RC and CR questions wrong. I got something like 8 SC wrong.
