Hi ThisIsWater,

Many Business Schools accept both the GMAT and GRE as part of the application process. Before you switch over to the GRE though, you should make sure that the specific Programs that YOU want to apply to currently accept both Exam Scores (since it would be a shame to find out too late that one of your preferred Programs would only accept the GMAT).

In addition, you might be closer to your GMAT Score Goal than you realize, so switching Exams at this point might actually be counter-productive. Before I can offer you any advice for studies (regardless of the Exam that you're interested in), it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

GRE is a much easier exam having given both It took me 6 months of solid study to get a 710 on the GMAT and two weeks of study to get a 328 on the GRE.

To OP: Please tell us more. How did you actually prepare. What materials did you use. I am in dire need of some direction.. should I th the ets mock (since we have very limited of them) to gauge my level or any other free mock.

Any one else prepping now can you answer this: In quants things are changing I heard.. more topics is it true?? And are the mocks considering the changes

Great story. Congrats.

Hi xxxxl9962,

The original poster hasn't been on GMATClub in about 8 months, so you might not receive a response from him/her. In addition, if you're looking for advice for your studies, then you would likely receive more of a response if you were to start your own post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this old one). I'll be happy to offer you advice for your studies (regardless of whether you're studying for the GMAT or GRE), but it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying so far and your goals. As an aside, beyond the 2 free practice GREs that you can take (through www.gre.org), there are also 3 other Official practice GREs that are available for purchase as well as a number of 3rd-party providers that have reputable practice GRE Tests.

Studies:
1) When you say that you've heard that the Quant section is changing, which Exam are you referring to, what specifically have you heard and what is the source of the information?

2) Which Test are you currently studying for and how long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far?
4) Have you taken any practice Tests/mocks yet? On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of those Tests and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
5) What is your overall goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
