Thanks for the Myth Buster Fuzzy !!! The Waiting game sucks. Duke was my first ever MBA app, thats why the wait is killing me .,, from various stats on GMATclub about half of us will be invited for an interview .. All the best everyone !!

So all interview invites (for folks who did not do the interviews already) would come in one single wave on the 8th ?

Kapil, I would think so. I mean, if you look at the 2015 thread on the forum, folks posted about their interview calls in a single wave.

Calls? You mean that they call you for an interview invitation? seems unlikely...

EDIT: I wen over the earlier pages of last year's application thread (pages 11-15) and people either received their interview invitation by mail or by an updated status on the website. No one mentioned calls...So I guess you just used this phrase unintentionally

Sorry my bad. A cultural mistake. In India, we regularly refer to interview invites as calls. Of course it doesn't make sense for Duke to call for an interview. The invites come in an email.

Yes, I was an EA applicant last year and everyone receives that email. I think the adcom wants to reiterate the point that applying EA means that any acceptance decision on their part for your application binds you to matriculating. I would argue that certain conditions (eg. Life) may change your ability to matriculate but those conditions do not include an applicant applying EA to Fuqua and then accepting a R1 acceptance to another school. The adcom world is small and they all talk. You don't want to be in that conversation!

Hi Guys... I'm an international applicant. Duke was unable to verify my scores so I had to send them an email of my official score report. In reply I got an email which stated that my application was complete. However the SISS portal still shows my application status as "Application Received" and not "Application Complete". Should I send another email? I dont want to sound too pushy. The wait for interview invite is anyways unbearable!.. Please suggest.

It took about a week after I submitted my application to get the application complete status. Moreover, when did you send the email, they say on the site that it would take them 3-4 days to process the scorecards.

You could email once again to confirm, but I wouldn't worry too much about it ..

Its been 2 weeks since that email conversation.

Can anyone mention some qualities that distinguish Duke from other top schools?

I am attracted to Duke as the school's experiential programs fit with what I need in my MBA experience. Three aspects particularly caught my attention in my research while building my application.

1) Team Fuqua (the school is big on this front) .. The entire MBA program is based on this philosophy. A lot of b-schools talk about learning teams, but at Fuqua learning teams are integrated into the program. Even the classes that you attend will be with your teams.

2) FCCP - Amazing opportunities for folks aspiring for a career in consulting. Fuqua is one of the b-schools that allows even 1st year students to participate in live consulting engagements.

3) FSBC - Consulting engagements for small businesses in Durham. Again this is student-run and so an amazing platform to improve leadership and team-based skills.

On another note: The interview invites will come in a few hours.. Keeping my fingers crossed to get selected...

Any interview invites for EA applicants? I gave my interview at the campus though. Just asking out of curiosity

Hey Guys, the Duke website says Interview invites 'by 8th October' and not 'on 8th October'. Just getting nervous on that front.. Play of words perhaps

Yep that's what the website says. But on the SISS page its says "On" the Decision Release date. Moreover, Duke had given until yesterday for EA applicants to take their forms to R1. That obvious for no results at least until Oct 8 ...

So the waiting game continues ...
