Guys some unsolicited advice. Please bear with me:

I am sorry to hear that some of you are not invited to the interviews. Look at the positive - you have got to enough time to make it work for Round 2 and even Round 1 at some of the schools. You can take a hard look at your application and see what's wrong.

Look at my case. I travelled all the way to Fuqua and gave the interview in the open interview period. Now I have to WAIT till October 30th. I have an application to submit tomorrow and I just cannot focus :( And god forbid, If I am not accepted, it might be too late to do something about the application. Sorry, if am sounding selfish. All the best your applications to other schools.

Congrats to all those who are invited for interviews.

Best,

Not invited. Very dissapointed! :(

Same here. Not invited. :?

Hi All,

Congrats to those invited ... just wanted to check if everyone got the same ding letter ...and did they all mention a possibility of being invited at a later stage. I know I may be hoping a little too much here but just curious.

Thanks

Thanks mate. Totally appreciate your words.
However the point is with a GMAT of 750 and a solid work experience, I expected an interview invite even
if I did not make it post the interview.
I assume that there are several others who have a very decent profile but did not get the invite.

What happens when you get rejected without an interview is that you start doubting your essays, your recommenders and your 'fit' even for the next set of applications.

All the best to everyone who is invited. May the force be with you.

Yes you should take a hard look at your essays, career goals and talk to the recommenders. However, I don't agree with the 'fit' thing. No one can tell you that you are not a fit at any of the schools. I believe there is no specific category that only these people will fit at top bschools. In fact, it should be quite the opposite. Diversity is the key, right. So I would suggest taking a look at your essays. May be you have not highlighted the team work in your essays, may be you need to check the tone of the essays. I am not sure. But I am sure you will figure it out :) Or may be your application is too strong or they felt you applied to them as a safety school. Who knows? :) All the best!

Thanks buddy - I didn't check that piece of information.
I checked the pdf letter and it did mention that this is not a final decision and one can expect an invite even in EA or later rounds.

Does Duke send out this sort of a 'pending' ding to all the applicants irrespective of the round of application?
Or is it only for the EA folks?

I don't know of any top MBA program which invites for interview once denied without interview.

Yeah me too, no invite, disappointed of course. At the risk of sounding desperate:) have there been any occurrences where an interview request came in later on after an initial No Invite ?

Anyway Best Wishes to All!.

Got the invite to interview!

Congrats to those that also got an invite, and keep your chin up for those who didn't. Is anyone else having a problem loading the pdf letter from the SISS site? My notifications box says, "Interview Decision - Invited (10/8/13)" but when I click on it nothing loads. I also tried from my cell phone and had the same problem so it must be the website. What is on the pdf link?

I had the same problem. In the excitement of getting invited for the interview I didn't notice that the pop-up blocker on my browser was preventing the link to open. See if its the same with you. Congrats by the way!!!

No. Not necessarily. People living in the west coast of the US need not come to the campus and give interview at open interview period. So they could get the invites now.

ah Ok, that is correct.

And sorry, I think the deadline for open interview was the 15th or something.

good luck to you all

There are lots of questions regarding “not invited, what now?”

Fuqua’s admission policy and procedures change every year. In the past, there are several cases reported in GMATClub of people who were “not invited”, receive an interview during decision date, interviewed, and accepted.

Keep your heads up.
