Just FYI, I sent an email a few days ago asking if they are willing to provide any feedback about what aspect of my application made me get placed on the waitlist. Got this answer back:

Quote:
Thank you for your email and for your interest to remain on the waitlist. Unfortunately, I am unable to give feedback to any students after the decisions have been released. Here is a link to an article one of my teammates wrote on tips for applicants on the waitlist:
https://blogs.fuqua.duke.edu/duke-mba/gu ... pplicants/

If you have any additional material to add to your resume, please feel free to send that information to
application-processing@fuqua.duke.edu and they will add that material to your file. I apologize again for the inconvenience!

has anyone sent any additional information? I am struggling to write stuff especially since my Why Duke essay I listed every possible reason why Duke was the place for me ... a friend of mine who was a R1 waitlist, never sent any update and got converted in R2. He advised me not to send anything unless it well and truly added value to the application....im finding it hard to follow his advice but also hard to write an update email....

I'm in the same boat...I feel like I need to do something to help my candidacy but I haven't retaken the GMAT, taken any additional courses, had a promotion, etc. I'm not sure that any of those are really viable options for me at this point.

I can't imagine that not sending an update/note will be the golden ticket to admission. I am willing to bet the friend that was admitted in R2 without sending anything was admitted based on the comparable statistics of the R2 applicants. Adcoms look for a student's desire to attend the school as well as academic/professional merits, and letting Fuqua know you want in can't hurt you at this point in the game. I am waitlisted at another school and the adcom recommend 2-4 updates over the course of the (indeterminate) waitlist period. Although I haven't sent anything to either school at the moment, it will happen soon.

I have probably lost a little bit of my desire after going all out for Fuqua and Sloan and being WL at both. With Ross in the bag, I guess I have to question whether I would choose Fuqua over Ross in the first place.... that decision itself has left me 50/50. The only upside is that it costs zero to send an update letter but it does take up valuable time...

aaahhh the confusions of simply applying to B schoools!!

I sent an update. No feedback on it - just that it was being added to my folder.

Good luck to all you other waitlisters :-D

Does anyone know what we should expect if we don't get the call today? Any update at all on the SISS site? Or no action?
