How much time does it take to apply for atleast 5 B-schools?
I am about to give GMAT on November 5th. Will it be too late for R2?

In case you are starting from scratch, it would be hard to fit in 5 applications. It definitely varies from person to person, but the essays are such that they demand introspection and generally each school’s application could easily take 2-5 weeks.

Don't think it's a problem. A lot of schools have similar essay questions. 1st school took about 3 weeks for me, 2nd school about a week. 3,4, and 5th school just a couple days.
You should be fine if you nail the GMAT in November.

Eventually it will work out...
Main focus now should be your gmat ....
2nd start creating account on application portal of all target schools
3rd decide your references...prior to November...ask them for help if need help with jotting down points
4th start working on essays as soon as you can...create a list of questions for each school you are Targeting, draft essays according to schools ideology, motto and work on your story ...
5th dont stress out its managable....
All the best 👍👍

I did it...5 schools in 1 month after my gmat so...yeah i can comment😅
Regards

Hi Surabhi92,

The decision to apply in Round 1 MBA or Round 2 MBA is completely based on your application letter, work experience, and interview preparation. Therefore, it is advisable to apply when you think you are completely prepared for all of the MBA rounds. Research is an important component of your application; therefore before applying to any school, you should have a good knowledge of the rate of selection for each of Round 1 MBA and Round 2 MBA of each top B-School. However, you may read an article on which MBA round you should apply. This article will discuss the best timing for applying to an MBA school, the relevance of the application timeline, the rate of selection, and which round 1 vs. 2 is to be selected for filing your application.

Hi, I noticed most MBA programs had/have September as their 1st round of deadline and second deadlines are now mostly next year i.e. Jan 2022. My question is to understand that if one applies in round 2, does that in some way backfire the student? Is it a wise decision to apply in Round 1?

Hi howdoesitmatter,

The amount of time you should devote to working on your applications is entirely up to you. Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you determine when to start working on your applications:

1) How much time do you have available on your schedule?
2) How difficult do you consider to write essays?
3) As an MBA candidate, how focused and motivated are you?

Most MBA aspirants spend three to four months on average to submit several MBA applications. However, because each person is different, you should plan between 30 and 50 hours to finish 3 to 5 applications. If English is not your first language, you should prepare extra time, especially when writing an essay. Although the MBA application process is time-consuming and demanding, having a game plan in place might help you avoid unnecessary stress. If you have any concerns, feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!
